Meet Dr. Price, DM, PMP

Welcome Video (Please click this link.)

Dear Friend,

Thank you for visiting the Winning Ways Management LLC. website! As you will come to find out, I am a “people person” so I want to provide an introduction. I find that there is no replacement for meeting someone face-to-face. While that may not be possible at the moment, I would like to tell you a little about myself. As you will see shortly, I am all about serving people and helping them win!

I realize that it bothers some people when they consider hiring a one-person company. I am convinced that I provide incredible value to you–the most important person to my business! Over the years, I found that being a company of one allows me the flexibility and focus that the large companies simply can’t offer! I am able listen to you and clearly understand your challenges. Many times, I find that the challenges are both obvious and not so obvious. In my 30 plus years of experience in leadership and management positions in business, government, and higher education, I have come to realize that the best solutions are delivered by one person to another person. People really cherish the one to one ratio or small group attention!

I earned a Doctor of Management degree as my twenty year Air Force career concluded. After the US Air Force, I became the Managing Consultant for the Year 2000 Project Management Office (PMO) at MCI. I guided other senior managers through strategic planning as well as operations of the PMO. After MCI, I was soon hired as the first Director of Business Development for a small Denver software engineering firm. During that time, I also became their first COO and their Chief Management Officer. Once I had helped position the company for future growth, I decided to start my own company.

In March of 1999, I founded Winning Ways Management in Colorado Springs, Colorado. My corporate vision tells it all: “To Make A Difference!” I helped clients with leadership development, strategic planning needs, project management needs, management training, and more. I am a member of several professional organizations such as Project Management Institute and the American Society for Training and Development. I have been involved with the Boy Scouts of America over the past four decades in many ways. I am an Eagle Scout, a Vigil Honor Member of the Order of the Arrow, and a former Assistant Scout Master. Scouting and what it taught me in my early years is very special to me even now! I am also a firm believer in the power of teamwork! That is why even now as a one-person company, I formed strategic alliances with others. When I need other experts, I have a large network of strategic alliances to draw upon to serve your project management needs.

I have trained and impacted literally thousands of people over the years! I have helped people in many ways in organizations such as the US Army, the US Air Force, MCI, Genentech, and many smaller organizations such as Colorado Information Technologies, Inc. I have two books out now (Your Customer System and Takeoff: An Introduction to Management) and I am writing more. I teach project management at the PM College and taught project management courses at the University of California, Irvine, and at Colorado Technical University as an adjunct professor. I currently teach at the University of the Rockies School of Organizational Leadership.

Here are some comments from some of my project management students who were managers at MCI:
— “Additionally, this course helped me enhance my abilities as a project manager in my current job responsibilities and I will be able to use the skills I learned in my future project management endeavors. Keep up the real-life experience examples in your class discussions. It sheds good light on what the big picture is in project management.”
— “Thank you for the great instruction! ”
— “Thanks. I learned how much there is to possibly learn about PM!”

I realize due to my 30 plus years of experience that if you have a complex problem or one that demands a customized solution, you need someone with a great deal of experience. Complex project challenges demand experience when it comes to solving them. A corporate executive once remarked to me that I have the ability to take a complex business/project and make sense out of it for him. And that is where I come in for you. I’ve had the titles of CEO, COO, Director, and Manager. I have had many, many people within my control. I have had responsibilities to include millions of dollars, nuclear weapons, and not the least of which, people’s lives!

I hope you have found this information helpful. I would be glad to visit with you further about how I can have a positive impact on your organization and truly add value in project management as I have for others! I will do my best to show you and your organization the Winning Ways, all the while remembering the real Teacher who provides the Way, the Truth, and the Life. If you would like to learn more about me, I would be glad to send you a complete biography and more information. I look forward to reading your email or visiting with you on the phone very soon! Most of all, I look forward to serving your project management needs and helping you WIN!

Thank you and the best of everything to you!
